South African Startup Market Reflex Launches AI-Powered Trader Development Platform

South African startup Market Reflex has launched a trader development platform that uses artificial intelligence to support discipline, decision-making, and behavioural analysis during financial market operations.

The application combines structured trade logging, pre- and post-transaction reflection, personal trading strategy development, and AI-driven coaching — targeting the behavioural dimension of trading rather than purely technical skill.

According to Market Reflex founder Mlungisi Mdletshe, the platform is designed to help users identify behavioural patterns and assess the consistency of their decisions over time.

"Many traders already understand the technical concepts, but continue to struggle due to impulsive entries, revenge trading, poor risk management decisions, and a lack of consistency in following their own strategies," Mdletshe said, as quoted by Disrupt Africa.

Mdletshe noted that while trade journals and trading psychology tools already exist in the market, Market Reflex aims to consolidate planning, operational reflection, behavioural accountability, and AI-based coaching into a single integrated system.

The startup is self-funded and has made the application available on the Apple App Store, with an Android version in preparation. The platform is currently targeted primarily at English-speaking traders in South Africa, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia.

The company plans to subsequently expand its distribution, establish partnerships, and offer localised support in additional markets with active retail trading communities.

Market Reflex operates on a freemium model, providing basic features at no cost while making advanced tools available through a Pro subscription.
