The Kingdom of Norway on Friday donated more than $3 million to the World Food Programme, WFP, in Mozambique.
The support is a result of a cooperation agreement signed on Friday in Maputo by WFP and the Norwegian Embassy.
The interim representative of WFP-Mozambique, Pierre Lucas, explained that the initiative aims to continue supporting internally displaced people in Cabo Delgado and provide livelihood opportunities to host communities in that province.
The Chargé d’Affaires at the Norwegian Embassy, Tom Eriksen, said he hoped the support would result in improved livelihoods for the population in Cabo Delgado.
The initiative will benefit 800,000 people in that part of the country.
