Mozambique’s Administrative Court has submitted to the Assembly of the Republic its Report and Opinion on the General State Account for the 2025 financial year, after the document was approved by the Court’s Plenary on 29 September, the Mozambique Information Agency reported on Wednesday, 30 September.
According to the institution, the submission took place the following day, 30 September, after the Administrative Court completed its assessment of the General State Account in accordance with the competencies established under the Constitution of the Republic.
“The General State Account is the instrument through which the State renders account on the execution of the State Budget, presenting information on revenues collected and expenditures incurred during the respective financial year,” the Court stated.
The analysis of the General State Account forms part of the constitutional process for oversight of public financial management, with the Administrative Court responsible for issuing the corresponding Report and Opinion.
“The Administrative Court reaffirms its commitment to exercising, with independence and responsibility, the competencies assigned to it by the Constitution and by law, contributing to the strengthening of transparency, accountability, and sound management of public resources,” the court said in a statement.
The process also involves the Government, which is responsible for preparing the General State Account, and the Assembly of the Republic, which is mandated to review the accounts and oversee budget execution.
