Mozambique is represented at the third ministerial meeting to review the partnership between the African Union (AU) and the European Union (EU), taking place in Brussels, Kingdom of Belgium, by the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Mozambican Communities Abroad, Maria de Fátima Manso.
The meeting, which began this Tuesday (20th) and will run until next Saturday, aims to assess the current state of cooperation between the two organizations, with the goal of mobilizing joint efforts for economic, social, and political-diplomatic development in the Euro-African space.
On the sidelines of the ministerial meeting, Maria Manso will also participate this Wednesday in the first session of the AU-EU Partnership Ministerial Follow-up Committee, which celebrates its 25th anniversary. In parallel, the official will attend the 119th session of the Council of Ministers of the Organization of African, Caribbean, and Pacific States (OACPS), which will take place from May 23 to 25.
During the session, member states will assess the level of implementation of previous decisions and are expected to discuss topics of common interest, with emphasis on the restructuring process of the organization’s secretariat.
Maria de Fátima Manso is accompanied on this diplomatic mission by Mozambique’s ambassadors to Ethiopia, Ana Nemba Uaiene, and to the Kingdom of Belgium, Berta Cossa, as well as by the Director of the Office of the National Authorizing Officer, Mário Saraiva Ngwenya.
Mozambique’s participation in these international forums is part of the country’s efforts to strengthen its presence and influence in multilateral platforms, contributing to the deepening of strategic partnerships with the European Union and other regions of the world.
