Mozambique's government is stepping up efforts to attract capital from the United Arab Emirates, with the aim of accelerating industrialisation and economic growth by converting the country's resource potential into concrete investment opportunities.
Economy Minister Basílio Muhate met with Sheikha Somayer Noor, chairperson of NOOR HOLDING, a UAE-based business entity, in Dubai on the sidelines of the AIM Congress 2026, an international investment platform running from 7 to 9 September.
The meeting was aimed at strengthening dialogue between Mozambique and UAE investors, with discussions focused on identifying new investment opportunities and potential strategic partnerships in sectors considered priorities for national economic development.
The initiative comes as Mozambique seeks to position itself as an attractive destination for international capital, mobilising private resources into sectors capable of generating employment, expanding productive capacity, and accelerating the transformation of its economy.
During the talks, both sides examined cooperation and investment possibilities with the potential to support the country's industrialisation, including the creation of new value chains capable of reinforcing domestic economic activity.
Mozambique's participation in AIM Congress 2026 also provides a platform to showcase the country's economic potential to international investors and bring the private sector closer to projects deemed strategic for national development.
For the government, the key challenge now lies in converting investor interest into concrete and lasting partnerships capable of delivering tangible results for the Mozambican economy.
The outreach to UAE investors forms part of Mozambique's broader strategy to attract international capital and translate investment opportunities into projects that can underpin industrialisation and long-term national development.
