The Secretary of State for Maputo Province, Henriques Bongece, made his first official visit this week to the Beluluane Industrial Park, emphasizing the strategic role of the infrastructure in job creation and the economic development of the region, MozParks announced on Friday, May 30, through a press release.
The visit, organized by MozParks, the entity managing the park, included a delegation composed of senior officials from the sectors of labor, finance, agriculture, industry, health, and statistics. The delegation was received by MozParks’ CEO, Onório Manuel, who presented the company’s national strategy and the results achieved in generating employment.
“The Beluluane Industrial Park has already created more than ten thousand jobs, with a special focus on the inclusion of youth in the labor market,” he stressed. During the visit, the delegation had the opportunity to learn about flagship projects, such as the Sunshine Nut Company, where the CEO, Don Larson, shared over a decade of experience operating in Mozambique, highlighting the company’s commitment to local product processing and employability.
The delegation also visited the Godrej Group, currently the largest employer established in the park. The CEO, Bharani Ganesh, presented the operations of the industrial unit and the main challenges faced in the current context.
At the conclusion of the visit, the Secretary of State acknowledged the positive impact of MozParks’ activities in the province, emphasizing the park’s contribution to strengthening the local economy.
“Industrial parks are strategic infrastructures for sustainable economic growth and job creation. The provincial government is committed to continuing to support the growth of industrial activity in Maputo,” stated Henriques Bongece.
MozParks, in turn, reiterated its commitment to the “creation of productive industrial zones that promote employment and contribute to the country’s sustainable and inclusive development.”
