Maputo Port Launches Master Plan Estimated to Cost Over US$ 1.3 Billion

The Port of Maputo has just launched its Master Plan budgeted at over 1.3 billion dollars of investment to enable the increase of cargo volume handled by that infrastructure in the next 20 years.

The Minister of Transport and Communications, Janfar Abdulai, referred by Radio Mozambique, said in the capital that the Maputo Port Master Plan cannot be an isolated instrument of the whole logistic system of the Maputo Corridor.

Janfar Abdulai underlined that the materialization of this initiative should, among other actions, enable the reduction of waiting time for cargo handling, through the simplification of the inter-border processes and the mobilization of new actors.
