The Vietnamese deputy minister for Agriculture and Rural Development, Nguyên Quôc Tri, Tuesday (30) noted the existence of potential and investment opportunities in cooperation with Mozambique, particularly in the areas of taxation, trade, agriculture, aquaculture, education and health.
Speaking during the fourth meeting of the Vietnam-Mozambique Joint Intergovernmental Committee, Nguyên Quôc Tri said the two countries were committed to cooperating more in the trade sector and promoting agriculture, in order to achieve development.
“We are determined to resume cooperation after almost ten years of interruption for various reasons, including the recent covid-19 pandemic, which significantly affected bilateral cooperation,” he stressed.
Nguyên Quôc Tri said that, at the meeting, the parties exchanged information on the economic, social, trade and foreign investment situation of each country, and also analysed and assessed the implementation of several agreements.
Representing Mozambique, the deputy minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Manuel Gonçalves, also noted that the meeting was a “success,” stressing that the two countries have very good political and diplomatic relations and always maintain exchanges between delegations.
“This meeting decided on a cooperation programme until 2026. At the meeting, we agreed that the fifth meeting of the Committee will be held in Hanoi,” he said.
