Close to 25 million American dollars, corresponding to a little more than 2 billion meticais, are being applied in the financing of local development projects in ten districts of Inhambane province.
The projects being financed are in the areas of hotels and tourism, restaurants, fishing, agriculture, industry and services, among others considered key in the creation of income and new jobs.
The objective is to support the youth in the creation of jobs and self-employment, and in this way, reduce their financial dependence.
The application of the amount was announced by the spokesperson of the Council of State Representation in the province, Elvira Chaúque, at the end of another session of that decentralized governing body, extended to the district administrators.
She explained that the amount is being invested in 44 projects in the districts of Massinga, Jangamo, Zavala, Inharrime, Inhassoro, Govuro, Funhalouro, Maxixe and Inhambane.
According to him, the Government will continue to finance this type of initiatives, in order to guarantee the achievement of the planned target, which is the creation of 745 new jobs until the end of this year.
He also explained that, of the total amount disbursed, the one granted by the international cooperation partners stands out, estimated in more than 11 million US dollars, mostly applied in the agriculture and hotel and tourism sectors, considered as the biggest generators of more jobs and revenue collection for the State coffers, followed by the agro-industry sector.
