State Revenue Grew 9.6%.

The State Revenue in the first quarter of this year recorded a nominal growth of 9.6%, while total expenditure showed a positive balance of 4.3%.

The data were revealed yesterday at the end of the 14th Ordinary Session of the Council of Ministers, which considered positive the result of the Budget Execution, compared to the same period last year.

According to Filimão Suaze, spokesperson of the Council of Ministers, the General State Account of 2020 to be submitted to the Parliament and the Administrative Court was appreciated, under the article 51 of the Law no. 14/2020, of December 23 (Law of the State Financial Administration System – SISTAFE).

The session approved the resolution that ratifies the Donation Agreement, signed between the Government and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), on October 16, 2020, in Maputo, in an amount of over 23 million dollars, for additional financing of the Biodiversity Conservation and Development Areas Project (MOZBIO).

It also approved the Regulation for the Protection, Conservation and Sustainable Use of Birds (AVI-FAUNA), an instrument that aims at the protection, conservation and sustainable use of Avifauna, in order to guarantee its contribution to the ecological balance, development of tourism and science, perpetuating the existence of bird diversity in Mozambique.

The Government also ratified the donation agreement, signed with the International Development Association (IDA), on November 18, 2020, in the amount of 73.5 million dollars, for the additional funding of the Post-Cyclone Idai and Kenneth Emergency Recovery Project.

The Executive also appreciated information on the status and prospects of the implementation of the measures on the prevention of the new coronavirus; the restructuring of the Northern Development Agency (ADIN), in order to better meet the challenges of the current socio-economic situation of the northern region of the country; the restructuring of the Post-Cyclone Idai and Kenneth Reconstruction Office (GREPOC), with the aim of accelerating the implementation of the Post-Cyclone Reconstruction Program.
