A 4.1 magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale hit Zambezia province, central Mozambique, this morning, but no damage was reported, announced the National Mining Institute.
The earthquake, recorded at 6:28 am (2 hours less in Lisbon), hit the administrative post of Dere, district with the same name, and was also felt in the districts of Morrumbala and Milange, without human or material damage, according to a statement from the Mozambican National Mining Institute, the entity responsible for analysing seismic activity in the country.
“The National Mining Institute is in permanent contact with the administrative authorities of the province,” the statement concluded.
