Moza BanK Announces Capital Increase of Over 1B Meticals

As part of its market reaffirmation actions and as one of the main banks operating in Mozambique, Moza Banco marked in June its 15th anniversary with an increase of over one billion Meticals in its capital.

In a press release published Saturday, 24 June, the bank said that with this increase its share capital had risen to over 7 billion meticals, which reaffirmed its strategic position in the market, paving the way for a promising future.

In the last few months, counting from July of last year, Moza Banco registered some changes and implemented important decisions in order to consolidate its presence in the financial sector and face the new challenges imposed by the various conjunctural factors.

With the aim of permanently improving the user experience, Moza is working to expand its commercial activities, enhance its branch network, invest in digitalisation and offer solutions based on knowledge, strategic vision, financial solidity and social responsibility. The major objective is to respond effectively and efficiently to the needs of its customers, shareholders and other stakeholders.

According to the chairman of the board of directors (PCA) of the banking institution, João Figueiredo, “the positive and encouraging results of the last financial years, particularly that of 2022, are an unequivocal sign of the bank’s capacity to evolve in a solid and sustainable manner”, considering that “the coming years will be complex and challenging, requiring an exemplary team spirit and the engagement of all employees”.

“With the implementation of the Strategic Plan 2022-2026 and the transformation projects underway, the bank believes it holds the necessary ingredients to prosper and achieve the desired success. In celebrating its 15 years, Moza Banco expresses its gratitude to employees, customers and shareholders, reaffirming its commitment to repay the trust deposited and contribute to the sustainable development of Mozambique,” said the PCA, during the ceremony to celebrate the bank’s 15 years, held recently in Maputo.
