Moza Banco has advocated, in Maputo, a collaborative approach to drive digital transformation in the national banking sector, highlighting the strategic role of technology partnerships as an essential tool for innovation, service modernization, and the promotion of financial inclusion.
The position was presented by Stélio Matias, Director of Information Systems and Technologies at Moza Banco, during his intervention at the BFSI Mozambique forum, where he emphasized that digital transformation cannot be achieved in isolation and requires combined efforts from financial institutions, startups, technology companies, and the government.
“We will grow together,” said Matias, highlighting that the bank has already started its digital journey based on two pillars: the internal development of capabilities and the creation of strategic partnerships with companies such as iCall, Vodacom, Axiom, and Bubble Cloud Mozambique, for colocation, specialized services, and complementary digital solutions.
He also stated that Moza Banco intends to evolve towards a banking-as-a-platform model, bringing services closer to users and allowing open participation from partners and solution providers within the framework of an open banking and banking-as-a-service vision. In this context, the bank welcomes the integration of microbanks and fintechs as part of a more inclusive digital ecosystem.
“We want to shorten the distance between service providers and users, offering a digital banking experience that is closer to the real needs of citizens,” he added.
