During the celebrations for the 13th anniversary of the Sociedade Interbancária de Moçambique (SIMO-rede) merged with the central bank, Vodacom Mozambique’s mobile wallet (M-Pesa ) was recognised by the BoM for its role in facilitating financial transactions in the country, and especially for its “contribution and dedication” in implementing the new SIMO-rede platform.
According to an article made public this Tuesday, August 13, by the Integrity Magazine news portal, it is now possible to transfer money from M-Pesa to any other operator via the new SIMO platform that went live in December last year, provided by the American company Euro-net, making everyday life easier for bank users who live far away from them.
In a publication, Vodacom Mozambique wrote that this award signifies its commitment to the effectiveness of the services it offers. “M-Pesa has been an essential pillar in the advancement of financial services in Mozambique, promoting financial inclusion and facilitating safe and accessible transactions for millions of Mozambicans.
This diploma of honour is a validation of our ongoing commitment to providing innovative and efficient solutions for all.”
Meanwhile, M-Pesa continues to be a mobile financial service in Mozambique that allows you to receive, transfer and withdraw money, make payments in physical and virtual establishments for products and services, save money, take out loans at the bank and pay for insurance via your mobile phone.
