The German Development Bank (KfW) will make available a donation for emergency support to Mozambican Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) of 6 million euros.
The amount is for an emergency grant to support the survival of MSMEs affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
In order to formalise the granting of the non-reimbursable financing, the Bank of Mozambique (BM) recently initialled an agreement with German Financial Cooperation in Maputo.
“Resources will be channelled through the BM and national financial institutions, and aim to support MSMEs specifically to cover cash flow needs, including, but not limited to, salary payments and other fixed costs during the pandemic”, says a Central Bank press release.
