FNB Mozambique Reopens Renovated Branch at Interfranca Shopping Center in Maputo

FNB Mozambique reopened this Tuesday (12th) its branch at the Interfranca Shopping Center in Maputo, fully renovated after a structural rehabilitation that combined modernization of the image, improved comfort, and enhancement of technological components.

With this intervention, the bank reaffirms its commitment to providing customers with faster, more personalized service aligned with the international standards of the FirstRand group. The inauguration was attended by a representative of the Maputo Municipal Council, a representative of the Bank of Mozambique, the Retail Director of FNB Mozambique, and the branch manager. Clients and partners of the institution were also present to witness the reopening and show their support.

In his speech, Nasser Meggi, Retail Director of FNB, highlighted the historical importance of this branch and explained that the rehabilitation is part of FNB Mozambique’s transformation strategy:
“This branch underwent structural rehabilitation aligned with our transformation strategy, not only in customer service but also with improvements that provide a welcoming and comfortable environment for our employees, clients, small, medium, and large companies, as well as the general public. Our commitment is clear: we are here to help.”

The modernization includes new features, as emphasized by Adilson Martins, CEO of FNB:
“In addition to comfort and convenience, we also bring technological innovation — ATMs with deposit functionality, internal wireless internet system, manager’s office, and meeting room for clients. The space itself is fully renovated and looks different.”

Alexandre Muianga, Councilor for Economic Activities and Tourism of the Maputo Municipal Council, stressed that this investment strengthens the financial infrastructure of the capital and brings banking closer to the needs of the population:
“More than a service space, this branch is a bridge between our city’s growth vision and the resources needed to achieve it. This partnership between the banking sector and the city is fundamental to building a more prosperous, inclusive, and competitive capital.”

Gabriel Domingos, Director of Banking Services and Payment Systems at the Bank of Mozambique, highlighted the modernization aligned with national policies for the sector:
“The Bank of Mozambique reaffirms its commitment to promoting an increasingly competitive, stable, and inclusive financial environment where institutions like this can prosper responsibly, serving the national economy.”

Among clients, satisfaction was also evident. Luís Manuel Dias de Carvalho, a client of FNB for 16 years, emphasized the improved service experience:
“The new bank represents greater ease and better quality in my connection with it. I am pleased to see that FNB is improving and growing, making customers feel closer and more comfortable visiting the branch when needed.”

Originally inaugurated in 2007, the Interfranca branch occupies 140 square meters and offers a wide range of banking services, from basic operations to customized solutions for companies and individuals, including ATMs and cash deposit machines for automated transactions.
