Absa Bank was recognized by the international magazine Global Finance as the “Best Trade Finance Bank” in Mozambique, South Africa, and Botswana, as part of the Best Trade Finance Providers Awards 2026, which honor leading institutions in international trade financing. The award positions the bank among the main drivers of trade in the region, according to a statement received by DE.
“More than an award, this recognition translates into a direct impact on the national economy. In a context where international trade is essential for economic growth, the bank has been strengthening support for its clients with solutions tailored to their specific needs.”
According to the bank, “these solutions allow companies to import and export more securely, manage risks, and optimize working capital. In this way, Absa contributes to boosting commercial operations and strengthening business activity in Mozambique.”
Global Finance’s evaluation considered criteria such as transaction volume, global trade coverage, service quality, price competitiveness, and digital innovation. These factors have allowed the bank to consolidate its position in the market.
Patrícia Darsam, Director of Corporate and Investment Banking at Absa Bank Mozambique, stated: “This award reflects our teams’ commitment to our clients. We work daily to understand their needs, anticipate challenges, and provide solutions that make a difference to their businesses. It is this closeness, combined with our execution and innovation capacity, that enables us to support trade growth and contribute to the development of the economies where we operate,” she concluded.
This recognition strengthens the Absa Group’s role as one of the main trade facilitators in Southern Africa, positioning the bank at the forefront of supporting the growth of Mozambican companies in regional and international markets.
