Absa Bank Mozambique is preparing a strategy for the strengthening and sustainability of the national Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) aiming at the economy recovery in the post-Covid-19 period.
According to the Director of Retail Banking and Business of the Bank, Pedro Carvalho, the idea is to work with various institutions, including multilateral entities such as the World Bank, to find models that effectively enable the development of the domestic economy.
Carvalho says that banks have an important role in driving this economic development, but stresses the need to adopt a highly collaborative model between various entities in order to achieve this.
“We have to guarantee that the political, economic, and social agents work in an articulated manner, evolving from a model that was highly competitive to one that is now collaborative,” the manager said, stressing that this partnership has to be extended to the government, to multilateral entities, and to all agents of the economy.
According to the manager of Absa Bank Mozambique, the recovery of the economy will continue to provide products and services tailored to each client and that also allows them to take advantage of new opportunities.
