The First Lady of Zimbabwe, Auxillia Mnangagwa, begins a visit to Mozambique today (16), where she will take part in the International Conference on Gender Equality in Africa, which will take place in Maputo.
Led by the Mozambican First Lady, Isaura Nyusi, the event kicks off on the 19th of this month and will culminate in the launch of the “We Are Equal” campaign.
Speaking to journalists this morning, minutes after Auxilia Mnangagwa’s arrival, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Manuel Gonçalves said that the event should be attended by six First Ladies.
“This visit by the First Lady of Zimbabwe, who has just arrived, is in the context of the First Ladies who will be travelling to Mozambique to take part in a conference that First Lady Isaura Nyusi is organising here in Mozambique,” he said.
“There will be around six first ladies here, and at the moment we have confirmation from Zimbabwe and we are waiting for Botswana, Rwanda, Nigeria, Malawi and Kenya,” she said.
