The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) will disburse a total of 682 million meticais to fund a program to retain students in schools located in Zambezia and Nampula provinces.
The programme will be implemented by the Centre for Education and Learning and Capacity Building for Civil Society (CESC) and will involve children and adolescents between 10 and 19 years old.
Speaking on Tuesday, 25 October, in Milange district, Zambezia province, the Deputy National Director of the Programme, Inocêncio Manjuel, explained that the Programme will last for five years and will aim at improving the pedagogical performance of the students.
Some beneficiaries expressed satisfaction for the support they will receive to continue their studies and committed themselves to stay in school to continue them.
In his turn, the provincial director of Education of Zambezia, Joaquim Casal, praised the initiative that may reduce the level of dropouts.
