The World Bank Director for Mozambique, Madagascar, Mauritius, Comoros, Seychelles, Eastern and Southern Africa, Idah Z. Pswarayi-Riddihough, assured that the World Bank will provide technical and financial support for the organisation of the 2nd edition of the “Crescendo Azul” conference, to be held next November in Vilankulo, Inhambane province.

Idah Z. Pswarayi-Riddihough expressed this availability in the audience that was granted last week, by the Minister of Sea, Inland Waters and Fisheries, Augusta Maíta.

Also during the hearing, the parties reviewed the progress of the new projects under negotiation.

On the occasion, Pswarayi-Riddihough said there is interest, on the part of the World Bank, to continue supporting initiatives in the sector, particularly in the area of aquaculture.

The World Bank’s support joins that of the European Union, Great Britain and Norway, and they guarantee their availability, during the presentation ceremony of the event, held Tuesday at the Museu do Mar, on the occasion of the celebrations of June 8, World Oceans Day.
