Polestar 4 SUV Arrives With Rear Window and Up to 629 km of Range

The Swedish brand has unveiled the SUV version of the Polestar 4, a more practical variant of its electric model that restores a conventional rear window and offers greater space in both the cabin and boot. The most powerful version features two motors, 544 hp, and the ability to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds.

The new body configuration replaces the fastback rear of the Polestar 4 Coupé with a more upright silhouette, adding 25 millimetres of headroom for rear passengers. Boot capacity reaches 1,665 litres with the rear seats folded flat and luggage loaded to the roofline. With the seats in their normal position, the space stands at 530 litres.

One of the most significant changes is at the rear, which now features a glass rear window, eliminating one of the coupé's most controversial design choices. The SUV also comes with a conventional rear-view mirror as standard, though customers may opt for the digital mirror used on the Polestar 4 Coupé.

In terms of powertrain, the model retains the options available on the coupé. The entry-level version uses a single electric motor mounted on the rear axle, producing 272 hp and 343 Nm of torque, with a zero-to-100 km/h time of 7.3 seconds. Range can reach up to 629 km under the WLTP cycle.

The all-wheel-drive version combines two electric motors delivering 544 hp and 686 Nm of torque. This configuration accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds, though range drops to 600 km.

Both versions use a 100 kWh battery and support DC fast charging at up to 200 kW. The SUV can also be specified with an optional Performance Pack, which adds recalibrated ZF active dampers, Brembo brakes, 22-inch wheels, and Pirelli P Zero tyres.

Additional features include the ability to supply up to 3.3 kW of power from the battery, as well as a Camping mode that keeps the air conditioning, entertainment system, and other cabin functions active while the vehicle is parked.

Production of the Polestar 4 SUV is already under way in Busan, South Korea, with first deliveries scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026.
