The US Assistant Secretary of State for Conflict will make a working visit to Mozambique, Ethiopia and Kenya next week, the US authorities announced yesterday.
“In Mozambique, the Assistant Secretary of State for Conflict and Stabilisation Operations will meet with members of the government, civil society and international partners about ongoing efforts to promote the recovery and resilience of communities affected by conflict,” reads the statement released today.
The text states that Anne A. Witkowsky will also “review US support for these efforts, within the framework of the strategy to prevent conflict and promote stability through dialogue on crucial issues such as youth engagement and inclusion, women’s initiatives in peacebuilding and the role of the private sector in contributing to peace and stability”.
After Mozambique, Witkowsky will travel to Kenya and Ethiopia to “strengthen US support for regional initiatives to promote peace and stability in the Horn of Africa,” the statement concluded.
