The visit is in response to an invitation from the Prime Minister of that country, Giorgia Meloni.
During the visit, the Mozambican Head of State will take part in the Italy-Africa Summit, to be held on 29 January in Rome, under the slogan: “Italy-Africa: A Bridge to Common Growth”.
Filipe Nyusi’s participation in the summit aims to intensify the relations of friendship, solidarity and cooperation that exist between the peoples and governments of Mozambique and Italy.
The event also aims to strengthen energy co-operation with African countries.
On the sidelines of the Italy-Africa Summit, President Filipe Nyusi is also scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with the President of Italy, Sergio Mattarella.
