Mozambique will have a National Environmental Education Strategy for the first time this year. This is a document that sets out the social values, knowledge, skills and competences aimed at the area of environmental conservation.
According to the National Environment Director at the Ministry of Land and Environment, Guilhermina Amurrane, with the existence of the Strategy, the actions of various players in the sector will be coordinated and connected.
Speaking during a meeting of the technical group, she emphasised that the country is moving towards a phased resolution of the environmental problems that are very common in some places.
“Investments are being made, and in the medium and long term we will be able to eliminate some anomalies. We need more citizens to be aware of environmental conservation,” she concluded.
