ESG: Climate Launchpad Opens Applications for 2023 Edition

Climate Launchpad, the world’s largest competition for disruptive ideas to solve problems affecting the environment and promote clean technologies and green solutions has announced that registration for the 2023 edition is now open. Mozambican participants in the 2023 edition will have access to intensive training and a vast networking network to boost their green businesses.

In a statement, Climate Launchpad said it has already opened registration for entrepreneurs who want to develop sustainable businesses. As the world’s largest green business ideas competition, it aims to create a stage to expose and unlock the potential of innovative ideas that contribute to tackling climate change.

The competition is aimed at anyone with a promising and sustainable idea that seeks to reduce or avoid the impact on the environment, in areas such as renewable energy, urban mobility, agriculture and food, green technology, among others.

The competition consists of three phases: first, an online boot camp, where participants will have the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of launching a successful business on a global scale. In the second phase, entrepreneurs will have access to intensive mentoring with top experts, where they will develop their pitch skills, improve their value proposition and develop their business model, to prepare for the national final. The best ideas from each country will then go on to the regional finals.

The Mozambican national finalist of ClimateLaunchpad 2022, Khiusha Uaila, said that “the programme was very important, because it allowed us to structure the business model and get the project off the ground. I had classes with experts in business and sustainability and the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with several entrepreneurs with green businesses”. In addition, Khiusha highlighted that “being among the top three national winners also opened doors for me to BIZ, another entrepreneurship programme (powered by ideialab) in which I further advanced my business idea and even won funding”.

Applications for Climate Launchpad are open until 6 August and can be made online, through a form available on the programme’s official website.
