It is a solar panel central, with the capacity to produce, in a first phase, about 60 Kw of energy that, besides the electrification of the locality’s headquarters, the residence of the locality’s chief, police station, health unit and school, will also benefit the local population.

The administrator of Mabote, Carlos Mussanhane, confirmed that the works of the small power supply system, valued at about 27 million meticais and which includes the construction of a water supply, also powered by solar panels, are practically concluded and that, at this moment, it is in the experimental phase, waiting for the confirmation of the date of inspection to be done by technicians of the Energy Fund (FUNAE).

Carlos Mussanhane explained that 187 home connections have already been made, including the facilities of the locality’s headquarters, the hospital and the local school, as well as in some streets for public lighting.

For Mussanhane, the entry into operation of the mini-power plant means a gain for the local population, because they will start using the energy, not only for domestic consumption, but also to develop some activities that will boost rural industrialization.
