The Mozambican President, Filipe Nyusi, will inaugurate today, Thursday (11), the photovoltaic plant of the electrification project of Mapulanguene Administrative Post, in the district of Magude, Maputo province, said a note from the Presidency.
This is a project implemented under the “Energy for All” initiative, which aims to maximize access to energy for more families and businesses by 2030, according to the National Electrification Strategy, approved by the Government.
According to the note, the project is budgeted at more than 79 million meticais and has the capacity to produce about 189.7 MWh per year.
The infrastructure also has a battery bank with a capacity to store 600kwh to provide energy during the sunless period. It has 7km of low voltage line and lamps for public lighting.
The project that is being inaugurated today is expected to provide electricity to 209 beneficiaries, including the headquarters of the Administrative Post, a school, a health center, 190 residences, a police station, commercial establishments, a weather station, and a water supply system.
