President Filipe Nyusi begins a six-day working visit to the People’s Republic of China this Saturday, at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, according to a statement issued by the Office of the President of the Republic of Mozambique.
Nyusi will participate in the ninth Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) and the China-Mozambique Business Forum, according to the statement.
During the visit, the Mozambican head of state will travel to the cities of Shanghai and Jian, to visit economic and social enterprises and meet with local authorities, it adds.
The 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) will be held in Beijing from September 4 to 6 with the theme of “Joining hands to advance modernization and build a high-level China-Africa community with a shared future.”
