The President of the Republic (PR), Daniel Chapo, will take part in the High-Level Week of the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), which will take place in New York from this Thursday (18) until next Tuesday. The visit includes bilateral meetings and participation in high-level forums.

During his stay in New York, the President will hold meetings with international leaders, including the Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN), António Guterres, and the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, as well as other Heads of State and Government attending the High-Level Week.

The Mozambican Head of State will be a keynote speaker at several forums, notably delivering an address at the Columbia Africa Conference 2025, organized by Columbia University. The participation aims to strengthen Mozambique’s presence in strategic debates on development and international cooperation.

The agenda also includes participation in the 41st Annual Africa-America Institute Gala, the African Energy Forum organized by the Atlantic Council, and a formal reception hosted by the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, and First Lady Melania Trump, for all Heads of State and Government.

President Chapo will be accompanied by First Lady Gueta Chapo and a high-level delegation composed of Maria Manuela Lucas, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation; Carla Alexandre Louveira, Minister of Finance; Basílio Muhate, Minister of Economy; Ussene Isse, Minister of Health; Ivete Alane, Minister of Labor, Gender Equality and Social Action; and Caifadine Manasse, Minister of Youth and Sports. Senior officials from the Presidency of the Republic and other state institutions complete the official delegation, ensuring political and technical support throughout the agenda in New York.
