Parliament Debates Constitution Revision To Postpone District Elections

The Assembly of the Republic (AR) debates today (3), in plenary, the project of punctual revision of the Constitution of the Republic in order to postpone the first district elections, which should take place in 2024.

On July 18, meeting in its 42nd ordinary parliamentary session, the Standing Committee of the Assembly of the Republic (CPAR) decided to debate, in this 5th extraordinary session of Parliament, which begins today, the Draft Punctual Revision of the Constitution of the Republic, “with regard to article 311, in its point 3, which deals with the holding of district elections in 2024”.

On Friday, the HR will consider the Proposed Revision of the Labor Law, the Proposed Law Creating the Sovereign Fund and the Proposed Revision of the Basic Law on the Creation, Organization and Functioning of Local Authorities.

The extraordinary session ends on Monday (7) with special debates on the three laws.
