The Mozambican government revealed on Tuesday (11) that the World Bank provided, at the beginning of this year, about 534 million meticais for the implementation of the human capital training project in Niassa province.
Speaking during the 6th ordinary session of the Niassa State Services Council, the spokesman, José Manuel, cited by Radio Mozambique, said that the amount would be applied to the construction of 15 pre-school establishments, equipping some health units and granting rotating credits to vulnerable communities.
“In Niassa province, the project will be implemented, initially, in four districts – Mandimba, Mecanhelas, Lichinga and Marrupa, and later may be expanded to Ngauma,” he said.
According to the same source, the initiative also aims to ensure greater access to health care and create greater opportunities for participation in the teaching and learning process.
“The project was the object of analysis in the ordinary session and multisectoral teams will be created for its implementation, because the intention of the Government and the cooperation partners is to gradually reduce social and regional asymmetries,” concluded the spokesman.
