Mozambican President Filipe Nyusi began a three-day official working visit to Rwanda on Wednesday (15), where he will take part in the 11th edition of the Africa CEO Forum 2024, moderating a panel entitled ‘Investing in Mozambique’.
According to a statement released by the Agência de Informação de Moçambique (AIM), during his stay in Kigali, the statesman will meet with executives from some multinationals that have operated in the country, particularly in the hydrocarbon industry, to speed up the implementation of projects that have been paralysed due to insecurity in the north.
‘The head of state will also meet with his Rwandan counterpart, Paul Kagame, to exchange views on strengthening bilateral cooperation in the fight against terrorism, as well as on the internal security situation in southern and eastern Africa,’ the document said.
The Africa CEO Forum in Kigali is an event organised in partnership with the World Bank through the International Finance Corporation (IFC), and more than 2,000 African leaders from the private sector and international investors are expected to take part.
On this trip, Nyusi is accompanied by the Minister of Industry and Trade, Silvino Moreno, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Manuel José Gonçalves, and officials from the Presidency of the Republic and other state institutions.
