The Mozambican government has signed a cooperation agreement with the Turkish Defence Industry Agency (Savunma Sanayii Başkanlığı – SSB), which has its own projects in military aviation, armaments, combat vehicles and naval assets.
The document was signed on Thursday 7 September during a meeting between the president of the SSB Agency, Haluk Gorgun, and the Mozambican Minister of National Defence, Cristóvão Chume, who has been on a working visit to Turkey since the beginning of the week.
“We are determined to fly the flag for our defence industry in Africa. The agreement with Mozambique covers the principles of the activities to be carried out jointly by the two countries,” wrote Haluk Gorgun on the social network X old Twitter.
On his way to that European country, the Mozambican minister was received on Wednesday (6) in audience by his Turkish counterpart, Yasar Guler, during which they signed a Military Framework Agreement between the two nations.
Cristóvão Chume’s visit to Turkey is aimed at “relaunching bilateral cooperation” in the field of defence and ends tomorrow (9).
