The Mozambican President, Filipe Nyusi, will represent the country this Wednesday, 20 November, in Harare, Zimbabwe, at the Extraordinary Summit of the Southern African Development Community (SADC).
In a press release, the Presidency of the Republic explains that the event’s central theme is the security situation on the African continent, in the region and especially in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
During the event, the heads of state and government will also assess the performance of the SADC Mission in the DRCongo (SAMIRDC) and review its mandate in order to determine its future before it ends in December 2024.
The summit will be led by Zimbabwean statesman Emmerson Mnangagwa, in his capacity as president-in-office of the Institution.
