The Mozambique–Italy Chamber of Commerce has reappointed Simoni Santi as president for a third consecutive term. The decision reinforces the institution’s strategic continuity at a time of growing economic interdependence between Mozambique and Italy.
The election took place during the inauguration ceremony of the new governing bodies, at a moment when the institution seeks to strengthen its role as a platform for investment facilitation, business promotion, and economic diplomacy.
For this new phase, according to the organization’s Instagram page, the leadership is focusing on boosting the creative economy, expanding operations into the provinces, and strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries. These priorities reflect an effort to broaden the chamber’s reach within the national economic landscape.
In his remarks, Simoni Santi interpreted his reappointment as a sign of confidence from member companies. According to him, it represents recognition of the outgoing board’s work and the institution’s sustained growth trajectory.
“The election shows that companies trust the work carried out and our ability to build a stronger and more inclusive team,” Santi said, emphasizing the confidence placed in the current leadership.
He also highlighted increased internal representation within the chamber, with greater gender balance and the integration of new business stakeholders. This has contributed to a more comprehensive, participatory structure aligned with current economic challenges.
Santi further noted the growing presence of women in decision-making roles within the institution, which he believes strengthens internal dynamics and reflects the chamber’s ongoing consolidation and modernization.
Simoni Santi is a businessman and association leader with a long track record at the helm of the Mozambique–Italy Chamber of Commerce.
