Mozambique and Russia have taken steps to reinforce cooperation in several areas of development, including energy, geology, industry and trade, education and agriculture.
These are the cooperation areas to be promoted within the framework of an agreement signed by the two countries in Maputo on Wednesday (10-07).
Mozambique’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation said that cooperation with Russia would boost Mozambique’s socioeconomic development.
Manuel Gonçalves was speaking in Maputo after signing the memoranda, at the final session of the Mozambique-Russia Joint Commission in the capital.

The Head of the Russian delegation to Mozambique and head of the Federal Subsurface Resources Agency Rosnedra, Yevgeny Petrov, said that the Russian government would continue to support Mozambique in implementing development programs.

Petrov highlighted Russia’s support in the area of education, at a time when 150 Mozambicans are studying in Russia.
