The mozambican president said that Tanzania’s support in the fight against terrorism may be fundamental to return peace to Mozambicans. Filipe Nyusi was speaking on the evening of Wednesday, 21 September, during a banquet he hosted for his Tanzanian counterpart, Samia Suluhu, at Ponta Vermelha.
On the occasion, Nyusi revealed that measures are already being taken bilaterally by the two countries in recent days to combat terrorism in the north of the country.
Mozambique and Tanzania share a wide maritime border precisely in Cabo Delgado, a province that is the main focus of the armed conflict since 2017.
Apart from terrorism, Filipe Nyusi also presented the outlook for economic prospects for 2022, placing Mozambican economic growth between 2.6 percent and 5.3 percent.
The head of state also referred to the relations with Tanzania, assuring that they will be forever.
Samia Suluhu is in Mozambique since Tuesday, September 20, for a four-day visit, during which bilateral cooperation agreements are expected to be signed in the areas of culture, tourism and energy.
