Mozambique’s diplomacy and governance, particularly in China and the Asia-Pacific region, were honored last Saturday in Beijing, China.
The event, organized by Appreciate Africa Network, which is responsible for the Pride of Africa Asia Pacific Awards, presented the award to Mozambican diplomat João António Xirinda, according to Rádio Moçambique.
According to the source, the recognition symbolizes the efforts made by Mozambican diplomats in the countries where they are posted, in promoting Mozambique’s good reputation and image abroad.
Established in 2013 and launched on January 1, 2014, the event recognizes and rewards Africans and international African icons across various fields of achievement, including diplomacy.
The event was attended by Chinese businesspeople, representatives of government institutions, the diplomatic corps accredited in China, and the general public.
