Millennium bim received Mozambique's Minister of Education and Culture, Samaria Tovela, at its Maputo headquarters for an institutional meeting focused on sharing initiatives and perspectives across education, culture and sport, as well as exploring potential areas of collaboration.
The meeting brought together Millennium bim's Chairman of the Board of Directors, Moisés Jorge, Chief Executive Officer Rui Pedro, and representatives from both the bank and the Ministry of Education and Culture.
According to a statement issued by the bank, discussions covered initiatives promoted by the Ministry and the contribution of education, culture and sport to development, social inclusion and the holistic formation of Mozambican youth. The meeting also provided an opportunity to exchange views on the role the private sector could play in supporting initiatives with meaningful social impact.
"This meeting allowed us to gain a better understanding of the Ministry's initiatives and priorities in the areas of education, culture and sport. Millennium bim values this institutional dialogue and will rigorously assess any potential collaboration opportunities that demonstrate concrete impact, sustainability and alignment with its Corporate Social Responsibility Strategy," said Rui Pedro, Chief Executive of Millennium bim.
Within its education pillar, Millennium bim recently completed an intervention at Escola Primária Matola-Sede, which included the construction of a three-classroom block and the procurement of 150 school desks, contributing to improved learning conditions for a school community of approximately 2,800 students.
The meeting further strengthened institutional dialogue between Millennium bim and the Ministry of Education and Culture, keeping open the prospect of cooperation on initiatives with broad social development impact across Mozambique.
