The districts of Macomia and Quissanga, in Cabo Delgado, are no longer high-risk regions, concludes the report of a security study commissioned by the United Nations.
With this result, these two districts are able to benefit from humanitarian assistance programmes, as part of the immediate stabilisation and recovery from the crisis in Cabo Delgado, according to Bonie Mpaka, head of the office of the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, a United Nations entity.
Bonie Mpaka, who was speaking this Monday in Pemba at the IV Session of the Provincial Coordination Committee for the implementation of the Cabo Delgado Reconstruction Plan, said that an identical study will be carried out in the near future in the region of Mbau, in the district of Mocímboa da Praia, to ensure assistance for returning families, which is currently limited because it is still considered a high-risk region.
