Japan has made available US$5 million to support development projects and humanitarian response in Mozambique.
The amount, to be channelled to United Nations Agencies, will contribute to support those displaced by terrorism in Cabo Delgado and other actions in the provinces of Nampula and Niassa.
The ambassador of Japan in Mozambique, Kimura Hajime, said it was important to continue supporting those affected by terrorism and create conditions to employ young people.
On the other hand, the representative of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), Bérangère Boëll, announced that the institution will receive US$500,000 that will be used in the installation of mobile units for prevention and response to gender violence, among other activities.
