The Irish government, through the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Defence, Micheál Martin, announced that it will make available one million euros to finance projects related to the blue economy in Mozambique.
The announcement was made on Friday (21), in Inhambane, south of the country, during the visit of the Irish ruler to an exhibition of agricultural products resulting from projects funded by the Dublin Government.
Micheál Martin said on the occasion that “he was impressed by the development of agriculture, aquaculture and projects related to biodiversity conservation, which are being implemented in Inhambane”.
Also on his visit to Inhambane province, the Irish minister once again recognised the contribution of the President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, in resilience and adaptation to climate change, and also highlighted the support of his Government in this area.
Mozambique, according to Martin, “is a close partner of Ireland where the second largest bilateral international development programme in Africa is located”.
