Greece donated this Wednesday, to the country, about 2.7 million meticais, to support young people in Cabo Delgado. The donation was made during the meeting that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of that country, Nikos Dendias, held with the Secretary of State for Youth and Employment, Oswaldo Petersburg.
“My country, Greece, is making a symbolic donation of 40,000 euros (equivalent to 2.7 million meticais), for youth programs operationalized by the Secretary of State for Youth and Employment in Cabo Delgado,” said Nikos Dendias.
According to the Greek governor, the donated amount aims to promote vocational training actions focused on young people, because they “need opportunities, employment and a chance to live in peace”.
In his turn, Oswaldo Petersburg said that the amount is another reinforcement for the activities that his sector develops, and will serve exclusively to award scholarships for vocational training of young people in Cabo Delgado.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece was in Mozambique on Wednesday, accompanied by a delegation of diplomatic members of his government, for an official working visit focused on fortification and cooperation in various areas, with emphasis on the economy.
Greece, through the European Union, supports Mozambique through the training of the Mozambican military in the fight against terrorism.
