Eni Rovuma Basin (ERB) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to identify areas of cooperation in social initiatives being implemented by the parties in Mozambique.
According to Eni’s press release, made public on Wednesday 12 June, the MoU was signed by USAID’s Mission Director in Mozambique, Helen Pataki, and ERB’s Director General, Marica Calabrese, which will allow the organisations to cooperate in the areas of access to energy, agriculture, economic development and diversification, professional education and vocational training, health, food security and nutrition, water, sanitation and hygiene.
Marica Calabrese said on the occasion that “this partnership will help broaden our reach, given USAID’s vast experience in this field. The partnership will contribute positively to improving the quality of life of local communities in the country.”
For her part, the USAID mission director noted that “the MoU signifies our shared commitment to collaborate with the private sector to achieve our common development goals. By working together with the private sector and companies like Eni, we can create more impactful and scalable solutions, promoting economic growth and improving the lives of the communities we serve.”
