The Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Expatriates, Badr Abdelatty, said that his country’s main interest is to invest in friendly relations with Mozambique, emphasising the importance of the two nations promoting cooperation in various areas of development.
In a telephone conversation with the Mozambican Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Abdelatty recalled that the two countries are celebrating 50 years of diplomatic relations this year. As such, he emphasised, new investment prospects must be explored.
He confirmed that Egypt remains committed to supporting Mozambique’s efforts to combat terrorism, which has plagued the province of Cabo Delgado for more than seven years.
‘I would like to extend my deepest condolences on behalf of the people and government of Egypt, to the government and people of the Mozambican President, especially to the bereaved families of the perished, expressing condemnation of this unjustifiable act of cowardice and cruelty,’ said Abdel Fattah Al Sisi, President of Egypt, in a message sent to the Mozambican head of state.
