Daniel Chapo Condemns Iranian Attacks and Expresses “Solidarity” with the UAE

The President of the Republic, Daniel Chapo, expressed solidarity with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and condemned the attacks attributed to Iran during a phone call with the Emirati President, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The conversation focused on the military escalation in the region and the risks it poses to international security and stability. The Mozambican head of state reiterated Mozambique’s concern about the worsening tensions.

During the telephone conversation, the two presidents analyzed the current climate of military tension and its possible implications for regional peace. The conversation highlighted the need to avoid further confrontation and to preserve stability in a region considered strategic. Both recognized that the deterioration of the security situation could affect not only the countries involved but also the international balance.

On that occasion, Daniel Chapo expressed Mozambique’s condemnation of the attacks against the territory of the UAE and other countries. The President also reaffirmed the solidarity of the Mozambican State with the measures taken by the Emirati authorities to protect their territory and population. The position was presented as part of the country’s commitment to the defense of international peace and stability.

The Mozambican President also reiterated Mozambique’s support for the UAE authorities in the face of what he described as “blatant Iranian attacks.” He said that his country is following developments in the region with concern, stressing that international stability depends on the collective responsibility of states and the rejection of acts that exacerbate conflicts.

For his part, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan thanked Daniel Chapo for Mozambique’s solidarity and support. The Emirati leader highlighted the importance of international cooperation and solidarity in times of regional tension. Both also defended the need for an “immediate halt to military escalation” and a return to dialogue and political solutions.

On the other hand, Daniel Chapo dismissed Alberto Leonardo Cuvelo from the position of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mozambique to the UAE by presidential decree, appointing Riduan Ismael Adamo to the same position.
