On Wednesday, June 10, the Council of State called for the deepening of the Inclusive National Dialogue among the country’s main stakeholders, considering it essential for preserving peace, national unity, and strengthening the democratic rule of law, Lusa reported.
The position was expressed in a statement released by the Office of the President following a meeting of that advisory body held in Maputo. According to the document, members analyzed matters of national strategic interest related to governance, institutional stability, and the consolidation of the country’s development.
“The Council of State highlighted the importance of deepening the Inclusive National Dialogue among the nation’s main driving forces as an essential tool for preserving peace, national unity, and strengthening the democratic rule of law,” the statement reads.
The advisory body considered that political dialogue and the promotion of stability remain key factors for strengthening democratic institutions and implementing policies geared toward national development.
“The Council of State also emphasized the need for continued measures to promote social cohesion and sustainable economic growth, reaffirming that institutional stability and political consensus are fundamental pillars for decisions aligned with the national interest,” the document adds.
According to the Presidency’s statement, the body further reiterated that these pillars are indispensable to the pursuit of Mozambique’s development objectives.
