TotalEnergies’ LNG Project: Quitunda Village Receives Solar Panels and Trees

The Mozambique LNG project, operated by TotalEnergies, has been actively improving living standards in Quitunda village by implementing sustainable energy and environmental initiatives. One of the key elements of this effort is the installation of solar panels in residences, aiming to provide more sustainable energy and significantly reduce electricity costs for residents.

To this date, 51 out of a total of 643 houses have been equipped with these systems, with the installation expected to be completed in all homes by the fourth quarter of 2025.

In addition to the solar panel initiative, the Mozambique LNG Project recently completed an environmental initiative that involved planting more than 1,000 shade and fruit trees in public areas and private plots. This effort contributes to environmental improvement and the creation of natural shade along main streets and community spaces.

These initiatives are part of TotalEnergies’ broader commitment towards sustainable development.
