Twenty more companies will be integrated into the 4th Cycle of Sasol’s Local Company and Supplier Development Programme.
The year 2024 kicked off with the launch of the 4th cycle of the Local Supplier Development Programme, implemented as part of Sasol’s Local Content strategy, in partnership with the Government of Mozambique.
Twenty (20) companies from Maxixe and Cidade de Inhambane, in Inhambane Province, will benefit from the training programme. The aim of the programme is to enable local companies to become more competitive, with a view to positioning themselves more actively in the market. In addition, the programme includes personalised mentoring sessions, according to the needs of local entrepreneurs.
On the occasion of the launch event, the Administrator of Maxixe, Maria Do Céu Cumbana, said that this progress reaffirms Sasol’s dedication to the growth of local companies by providing them with the tools to reach new heights of success. Maria Do Céu also emphasised the importance of all companies embracing the initiative to raise their standards in the provision of services and goods.
It should be noted that in the first two cycles of training and mentoring, 40 companies based in Inhambane province (mostly from Vilankulo district) took part, represented by 88 participants, 30 of whom were women. Currently, 20 companies from the Inhassoro and Govuro districts are taking part in the 3rd cycle of the training and mentoring programme, which will end in mid-March 2024. In total, 138 Mozambican companies, represented by more than 200 people, have already benefited from these training programmes.
